Yaw Pitot Technology for Accurate Pressure and Flow Direction Measurement
Yaw Pitots measure both dynamic pressure but also wind yaw angle, with the added advantage of improving the dynamic and static pressure measurement with yaw.
Now considered critical information in Formula One, where teams will now box the car in practice sessions if the yaw pitot fails,Yaw Pitots are finding increasing application in other industries, from heavy haulage trucks, to elite cycling.

Precision Yaw Measurement Probes for Accurate Aerodynamic Correlation
Aerodynamic forces are heavily influenced by yaw which can easily get into double digits with ambient wind. Without measuring this accurately on the road, accurate correlation of wind tunnel or CFD data is impossible.
Produced with the latest Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) technology, our probes are rugged and easily customised to your specific mounting requirements. While typically produced in stainless steel, we can also produce in Inconel for high operating temperatures up to 980°C, or titanium for weight-critical applications.
All probes are supplied with their own calibration from our in-house wind tunnel, covering five separate speeds over their full operating angle range. The calibration is provided as simple lookup tables, designed for fast and efficient processing.
